File formats and data structure

Here we show you which data structure and data format your data file must have in order to be processed.

File formats

Currently only .xlsx (Microsoft® Excel) files are supported.
Depending on your browser, data files may only contain a limited number of characters in order to be processed:
- Google Chrome: 5242878 characters (recommended)
- Mozilla Firefox: 5242883 characters
- Microsoft Edge: 122070 characters

Data structure

Make sure that all relevant data is on one spreadsheet. If the data file contains several spreadsheets, only the first spreadsheet is read.
Column captions from other spreadsheets are currently not taken over.

Rows: Data sets / interviews must be specified at row level (1 data set / interview corresponds to 1 line).

Columns: Questions, ID, item batteries, and other survey data must be specified at the column level.

After the end of the last record, the table must be empty and must not contain any further values.
Important note: Ensure that there are no empty cells or duplicates in the column headers!
